Asylum Life Teams Overview
Asylum Life by Stone-Haven County Asylum revolves around five distinct teams, each with separate level tracks, weapons, and sub-team unlocks every 25 levels. Choosing the right team defines whether you spend a session escaping chaos as a Patient, arresting troublemakers as an Orderly, healing staff as Medical, or commanding the facility as a premium EPU or Facility Director operative. No team shares progression — level 50 Patient does nothing for your Orderly rank.
Free Teams: Patient, Orderly, Medical
The Patient team is the default role for up to forty players per server. Patients earn Credits, buy contraband from the Patient Shop, complete bounties, and ultimately escape the facility. Sub-teams from Psychotic Patient at level 25 through Hysteric Patient at level 100 add health bonuses and explosive arsenals. Read the Patient gameplay guide and escape routes before your first breakout attempt.
Orderlies are the primary security force, scaling with patient population up to roughly seven guards. They patrol corridors with Stunsticks and Tasers, arrest rioters, and guard exit checkpoints. Sub-teams unlock Electrostaffs, EMP grenades, and at level 100 the Ignotus Arc Baton plus Combat Drone. The Orderly guide and riot survival guide are essential reading.
Medical staff heal injured Orderlies and monitor escape routes near the exit gate. Lower health than Orderlies but invaluable with Medkits, Medigun, and healing stations. Sub-teams Auxiliary Staff, Field Medic, and Chief Physician unlock at levels 25, 50, and 75. Start with the Medical guide and Auxiliary Staff tutorial.
Premium Gamepass Teams
The Elite Protection Unit (EPU) costs 650 Robux and delivers superior armor plus weapons like the G36K and Electroshield. EPU sub-teams Operative, Specialist, and Damage Control cap at level 75. Damage Control operatives wield heavy riot equipment — see the dedicated Damage Control guide for tactics.
The Facility Director (FD) costs 999 Robux with a maximum of two directors per server. FDs restrain any Patient with Straitjackets, remotely control doors, and access the largest tool arsenal in the game. Sub-teams Administrator, Executive, and Overseer unlock at 25, 50, and 75.
Sub-Team Progression Across All Teams
Every team except Medical and the premium teams at level 100 follows milestone unlocks at levels 25, 50, 75, and 100 for free teams. Premium teams max at level 75 with three sub-teams. The complete sub-teams reference lists all seventeen sub-teams with health values and weapons. Use the sub-team unlock tool and leveling hub to plan your grind path on any role you choose.
Team Switching and Long-Term Planning
Switching teams is free and unlimited but levels never transfer. Many veterans maintain multiple team tracks — Patient for chaotic riots, Orderly for structured combat, Medical for support variety. Premium Gamepass teams EPU and FD require Robux investment but unlock unique gameplay fantasies documented on their respective team pages. Before purchasing EPU at 650 Robux or FD at 999 Robux, play the free teams to level 25 and experience sub-team unlocks firsthand. Use the guides hub to pick role-specific tutorials and the facility map to understand how each team interacts with the same physical space differently. Seasonal events on the events page sometimes favor specific teams — riots benefit combat roles while peaceful events suit job grinders.
Population Dynamics and Server Balance
Server balance shifts constantly as players join and leave. A server with forty Patients and one Orderly plays entirely differently from a balanced roster with full staff complement. Learn to read the team roster before committing to a role for the session. Patient-heavy servers favor Orderly and EPU leveling. Staff-heavy servers favor Patient escape attempts and riot XP. Medical remains valuable whenever combat occurs regardless of exact ratios. The basic overview helps new players understand these dynamics before queueing into unfavorable team compositions that frustrate first impressions.
